Catherine Pleil is the Executive Director of Durham IHN.  After a successful 30 year career at IBM, she retired to pursue a second career in social justice work.  She had been involved with IHN for ten years prior to her appointment as Executive Director in 2009.  Her experience includes 3 years on the IHN Board of Directors, during which she served as Treasurer and Board Chair, and 8 years as the IHN coordinator at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  She is thankful for opportunity to work full time in this wonderful organization.

Carol Bailey is a social worker who serves as the Case Manager for the families at IHN.  Carol is a Durham native, and has been in the social justice field for over 10 years.  She is passionate about her call to serve.  Her ability to make connections in the community on behalf of our families is phenomenal.

Brooke Phillips and Melissa Dreshfield are Duke Divinity students who are working at IHN as interns this summer. Brooke requested to be placed here again during the summer session, after working here all last school year.  Melissa was familiar with IHN before she started here, through volunteering with IHN at her church, Epworth UMC.  We are fortunate to have both of them on our staff!  In addition to pastoral counseling, they are working on creating a set of ongoing workshops for our guests that include Empowerment for Healthy Living and Financial Management.
