Catina
"IHN was a warm place for me and my two children in our time of need. The staff and volunteers immediately welcomed us with open arms. IHN became our family. I currently have a 2-bedroom apartment,ā Catina continues, āa full time job, and Iām working on my G.E.D. My kids and I are eternally grateful to IHN.ā
Catina first became homeless at 14 when her ill mother could no longer support them. Catina was responsible for caring for three siblings. She left school to work. But there were too many challenges for a teenager to overcome, and Catina became homeless again, this time with her own young children.
At IHN, Catina received the services that many homeless families need: a stable address, day care, job leads, interview clothes, transportation, and housing assistance. Long after her graduation from IHN, Catina continues to use our agency for emotional support. IHN is more than safe shelter and home-cooked meals. IHN is a place of hope, a foundation for new beginnings, love for neighbors in need.
